Low Fat Diet

The American Heart Association recommends choosing lean meats and poultry without skin and preparing  them without no additinal saturated or trans fat.   Where possible, you should eat fat-free, 1 percent fat, and low-fat dairy products, and cut back on foods that contain partially hydrogenated vegetable oils to reduce trans fat in your diet.

The American Heart Association suggests reducing foods that are high in dietary cholesterol. You should aim to eat less than 300 milligrams of cholesterol each day. The AHA also recommends increasing your intake of whole grain foods that contain fiber that can help lower your blood cholesterol and help you feel full.

Recent research also shows that eating at least twice per week oily fish containing omega-3 fatty acids (for example, salmon, trout, and herring) can help reduce your risk of death from heart disease.

Proper diet, combined with cardiovascular exercise and sensible cholesterol control through use of a supplement like Lipistat, can promote heart health and reduce the chance of heart attack or stroke.
